Hello! My name is Jenna Lee and I am the new Conservationist at the Elkhart County Soil and Water Conservation District. I was raised on a small farm in Central Illinois where we grew corn and soy beans. I also raised small farm animals that I showed at the county fair. Growing up in farm country, I learned the importance of maintaining soil and water health for quality crop production. Continuing my passion for the environment, I attended Goshen College where I received a degree in Environmental Science with a focus on sustainability. As part of my education I became very familiar with the Elkhart watershed by exploring it from beginning to end. Although Environmental Science was my degree in school, my true passion is education.
As your Elkhart County SWCD Conservationist I will be generating educational materials and programs for schools and adults as well as assisting my colleagues with all the other services we have to offer. I cannot wait to combine my two passions to provide quality service for my community. I look forward to meeting you and spreading the word about soil conservation!
